About

For the 2022 holiday season, ashthelazy, mlkinis, pemprika, and poxei are creating an original (non-fandom) enamel pin advent calendar! An advent calendar is a gift box used to count down the days until Christmas (or whichever holiday you'd like to celebrate), where the gift recipient opens one compartment of the box each day to receive a small gift.This project will have a total of 7 artists: the four organizers and three guest artists. Our theme is "Winter Solstice," and all enamel pins will follow this theme. To keep the advent calendar a surprise until the day it's opened, the enamel pin designs will be kept a secret and won't be revealed on social media until after Christmas.We are planning on having preorders and regular sales. Preorders will open a few months before December with mystery pins at a discounted price, and leftover sales will open after Christmas with revealed designs at full price.

Faq

Are the pins all original designs?Yes, all the pins will be original designs!


Will there be hints of what the pins could be during preorders?Leading up to preorders, we’ll show artists’ backing cards and silhouettes of pins. Each artist will give their pin a title so you will have a vague idea of its subject. We’ll also have written descriptions of each pin and let you know if it’s a character, animal, etc.


I would prefer to know what the pins look like. Can you show sneak peeks or even one pin design?Unfortunately, we cannot show any of the pin designs before Christmas, as it defeats the purpose of the surprise. Besides, customers who purchase the 4-day calendar may not even receive the revealed pin. However, as mentioned earlier, we will have other ways to give you hints. And if mystery pins aren’t for you, you can always wait for regular orders!


Can you showcase the artists' previous pin designs so that we can get some judgment of the art style?Yes, we’re planning on showcasing some of our mods’ and guest artists’ original enamel pin designs when introducing them so that you will have an idea of what they’re capable of!


I like the winter solstice theme, but please don't make Santa or reindeer pins.Rest assured that we won’t; we feel the same way as you do about Christmas-themed merch. Even though our advent calendar is meant to be opened around Christmas, we want our pins to be usable throughout the year. This is why our theme is the more broad “Winter Solstice” and not just “Christmas”! Expect some pins to be related to the winter night sky.
